Default Salmons to the Raptors?

I hear that Toronto and Sacramento were talking about shipping Salmons over to Toronto. But the thing is, Salmons, while being a free agent didn't want to play in Canada and Colangelo didn't want a person to come to the Raps if they didn't want to make Canada their home...

Thoughts?

Salmons would be great for us...exactly the type of player we need to start at SG or SF. It's not like life in Sactown is too great...he has a better chance to play in the playoffs with the Raps. I would love to see it happen.

the rumor at the time was that salmons backed out because he didn't want to compete with AP for minutes. He thought he'd have a better chance to start and play significant mins. in sac town.

Salmons is a much better and more versatile player than Garcia. I wouldn't mind seeing him come. If we could get a deal like

Miller or Hawes and Salmons

for Bargnani, Parker and filler

Bargnani, 1st pick (what has been rumoured) is too much for Salmons. The Kings are trying to sell high on Salmons and rightfully so. But that doesn't mean the Raptors should get suckered in. He's a good player but is playing over his head right now.

He's a career 45% FG and 35% 3pt shooter.
Right now he is at 50% FG and 43% 3pt.

He would be the best Raptors wing player for sure. He's a good player but not THIS good.

Give them the pick and only top 5 protected or so if Jason Thompson is included with Salmons.

If they are looking to rebuild maybe they'd want to part with kevmart.

Yeah exactly. I think that they are probably in rebuilding mode but K-Mart and Spencer Hawes are the two untouchables on their roster.

Martin is a one-dimensional scorer on a bad team. If they could get a star in return for him, no way should they make him untouchable. Put him on a team that's already good, and he'd look great playing a Rip Hamilton kind of role.

Default Re: Salmons to the Raptors?

kevin martin is out indefinitely with that ankle injury
he set to practice for the first time in a while on Christmas day

and the kings would be crazy to part with martin
better off giving salmons, who has probably reached or nearly reached his potential in this league
at least BC is thinking in the right direction trying to acquire a two-way player
