Default Andrea Bargnani and Anthony Parker on the block?

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/columnists/lawrence/

Quote:
They've already changed coaches - when they were 8-9 - so now the Raptors, eight games under .500 as of Friday, might have to start making deals as they continue to underachieve and sink in the East. One rival Eastern Conference GM said that Andrea Bargnani, the No. 1 overall pick in 2006, and Anthony Parker are prime candidates to be moved, as they look to add athleticism on the wings. In the meantime, Jermaine O'Neal has been sidelined with yet another knee injury. The Raptors are second in the NBA in losing games in which they've held double-digit leads (seven), with only Indiana (nine) doing it more times.

Glad to hear they are looking to aqcuire a sturdy wing and know our weakness. Good trading pieces also both Andrea and Parker.

Yea, and I always question the validity of the 'rival GM' source. More than likely just an off the cuff remark to a reporter on a slow news day. There's a reason 'stories' like this are just on a little sidebar and 4 sentences long.

I mean, they could both very well be available and Colangelo has a philosophy where he says nobody is untouchable. He's shown that in the past with his trading, he isn't afraid to trade players if it'll improve the team. Some will argue that hasn't been the case with Bargnani, and that may very well be - but like every other fan, we gotta take a wait and see approach...

They should be.

Bargnani
1st round pick (could be a lottery pick)
Parker ($4.5 million expirer)
Graham ($2.5 million expirer)
Kapono (bad contract, little talent but hey, some team might want him)

All should be available. Those are the Raptors main trade pieces. Not too impressive but that's what Colangelo has to work with.

a coupe of extra things I just found:
Quote:
The rumor mill has Sacramento shopping center Brad Miller and Charlotte looking to deal Gerald Wallace, and Toronto boss Bryan Colangelo is making it known he's ready to move anybody except Chris Bosh and Jose Calderon.
Quote:
Toronto was a team on the rise with a Coach of the Year winner (Sam Mitchell), fringe MVP candidate (Chris Bosh), a No. 1 overall pick (Andrea Bargnani) and the addition of Jermaine O'Neal.

Toronto is a team that fired Mitchell, keeps shuffling rotations failingly and probably would trade just about anyone beside Bosh or Jose Calderon. After a Friday win, the Raptors are 13-20 with five wins in the past 18 games.

Bosh talks like he thinks his team is so soft than it has goose-down jerseys.

"Sometimes we're kind of passive and we kind of hold back," Bosh told reporters in Toronto, where fans have been booing. "We have to be mean and nasty and get out there. People enjoy it, you'll win more games and you demand respect that way."

Miller would make very little sense. Not happening.

Well, this wasn't specifically an article about the Raps. I think it was just mentioning various GM's looking to make trades.
