Default Cant play ball anymore at the park closest to my house...

Me and my boys go to this park down the street to play some pickup once or twice a week.. FYI we are college educated mexicans..

Anyways, the other night we are playing a good game but things start to get physical with these ghetto black dudes and they start calling some BS (but everyone is calling BS at this point its a crucial time of the ballgame)..

well anyways my boy calls out one of the black dudes for calling phantom fouls and shlt.. black dudes start getting mad and are about to fight..

now I aint one to backdown from a fair fight, but something tells me these are the types of dudes that carry guns, knives and all that BS.. so what am I supposed to do? I cant guard the main player hard for fear of fouling him now and starting a fight that brings in guns..
so basically Im losing on purpose. Its a shltty feeling that I dont wanna go through anymore. 5on5 organized ball we wreck on these dudes.

Realistically, its very easy to carry a gun nowadays. Am I bltchmade for not getting into with these dudes? Id think not. But let me know.

Well depends what is making you think they have guns and knives...If it's just because they're black then you shouldn't be scared. If u don't want to play ball with those guys can't u just try and play pickup with other guys??

how bad of an area do you live in? there are only a couple places where you genuinely gotta worry about getting shot over a basketball game. at that point, i wouldn't have made it look like i was playing while i was losing on purpose, but i woulda made it obvious that i was losing on purpose. in this case, i woulda done stuff like puttin' my hands behind my back while strafing on defense, and once they was like "why you ain't playin' real D" then just be like "i'm tryin' not to foul you" in a sarcastic tone. but yeah, story of my life. black people getting mad when you beat them at basketball.

I'm sorry for throwing out the old cliche here, but it's true, it's better to be safe than sorry. I know I'd much rather not get into it over a game, than get plugged up with some bullets. But that's just me, I'd rather live and feel a little ****ty than be dead.

Like you said, you just don't who is carrying these days. Here in the UK knife crime is pretty high and gun crime is becoming more popular. It doesn't help that I live near Liverpool, where knife and gun crime is pretty high to start with.

I'd be more worried about the football hooligans where you live. Green Street Hooligans shocked me at the sh!t that goes on with crazed soccer fans.

For real f*cked up hooligans, check out the Millwall fans. Those guys are absolutely insane. Everybody hates them and they hate everybody else. There is almost always trouble at Millwall games, no matter who they play or where they are playing.

Do they just pick random fights with anyone or is it exclusively other teams fans?

From my understanding it's just with other team's fans. If there's an away game on, they'll travel up to the city early where they're team is playing. They'll then go and get drunk, or atleast have a few drinks before the game, get a bit hostile and then go to the game, after the game is when it all the fighting happens.

However, if Millwall are playing away, the local police will usually be on guard and half the police in that area will only be there because of Millwall fans. They'll have escorts all the time, making sure nothing happens. It's pretty insane.

This happens to a lot of teams fans, but it is most notable for Millwall fans, since they are notorious for this kind of stuff.

that's a bit glorified, the majority of football fans enjoy the game and nothing more same as millwall fans, I should know I have 4 mates who are millwall and they don't have punch ups everywhere they go. Again it's a select few who spoil it for the rest.

All these football films like "green street" "football factory" are just pushing a negative stereotype.....Don't even know why people watch them in the first place there nothing but ****.

yeh i live in Camberwell about 10 minutes bus from Millwalls stadium they go crazy on matchdays, they always have a go when im wearing my chelsea shirt on days millwall plays, luckily only time they actually threw down me and my friends could handle, luckily these ones weren't the giant skinheads haha they were scrawny kids my age usually I lose fights, but also alot of millwall fans are normal football fans they get a bad overrated rep infact probably 70% of all millwall fans I met and know aren't insane hooligans just normal supporters

I know it's only a small minority and it is really becoming a thing of the past nowadays, but Millwall is/was one of the worst.

Just thought I would mention, when I saw the thread title I thought it was going to be a typical ISH reason as to why you couldn't play ball. Something along the lines of:

So anyway, I got on this breakaway and I pull out my move, I callz it "the jam that make the ring go bam bam" dunk. Anyway I get so high up in the air, and as I jam it, the ring just shatters. It was crazy, yo! So me and ma boys need to find somewhere else to ball.

Glad you kept it realistic though.

i dont know how it is where u live, but u should just imply they are being soft next time it happens slyly. wanabee Gs will hate the thought of being soft

for example, when they borderline foul u just say 'dont worry about it i aint calling those pussyhole fouls' or something along those lines, their hardman egos wont be able to take it

i usaully call fouls on other people when i know ive fouled them, makes thing easier. or aim to foul on the next play and be like my bad ur ball staright away, that way people know ur being fair and their wont be ticky tack arguments about fouls.

if these guys are genuine ***** though and are just looking for a problem their is probably not much u can do xept not playing with them
