HOUSTON - Houston Rockets star Tracy McGrady guarantees he will return to the Rockets for the 2009-2010 season and that he will be a major factor.
McGrady had microfracture surgery five months ago on his left knee and there is speculation he would miss most of, if not all of the upcoming season, and that his career could be in jeopardy.
McGrady spoke with FOX 26 Sports from Chicago where he is working out.
"It's really no comparison to how I feel now and I how felt trying to play all of last season," McGrady said. "My knee is feeling extremely strong. The most important thing is I'm confident in it. You guys just stay tuned. I'm out here grinding in Chicago, trying to get back right, but yes I will be playing for the Rockets in the '09-10 season.
"I will be in uniform for the Rockets this upcoming season, I guarantee you that, and I will be a lot better than I was last year. I will be back to the player that I once was.
Every article like this only goes to show how much of a lazy bitch he was last year. He could have done everything his doing now, then. But not Tmac he was too good and didn't need too.
This is all about money and fame, oh and selfishness. I truly hope all this does is increase his trade value, He's a born loser.

I hope he comes back strong and scores a good 20+ppg, he was my favorite player but then he just stopped doing his thing so then Yao became my fav player than same thing happens to him, so Artest became my fav and now he is a Laker. Hopefully me liking Durant won't ruin his career.
I wish Yao wasn't gonna be gone cause the rockets finally realized that they are best running the offense through Yao and not T-Mac which would have lowered the pressure on T-Mac and he wouldn't have to try to score, facilitate and do it all.

I just don't like it when T-Mac talks about getting back to the player he was. Show me on the basketball court for a long period of time and then I'll believe you. However, I do wish him the best.
It's amazing how motivated guys get when they are on a contract year. Gotta show the NBA the knee's ok, right TMAC?
This is why the Knicks should make the playoffs. You got Larry Hughes, Al Harrington, Darko Milicic, and Chris Duhon all running around trying to look great so they get paid. Watch how hard they play.

T-mac's Salary for 2009: $20,370,437. Looks like a winner to me.
Back in the day, in the early part of this decade Mcgrady was tearing up the league. I think at one point in time you could argue he was easily a top 10 player, maybe even top 5 in the league. He just never really struck me as a player with a tremendous work ethic. Then add to that all the injuries and Tmac has pretty much been irrelavant for the last 2/3 years. If he can get healthy and TRULY puts the work in, he can make an impact on this league again. It's not too late. I do however think this will be his last season as a Rocket.
