Will Curry Succeed in the NBA?
The percentages don't look good for the Warriors and Stephen Curry. Curry produced inflated numbers for Davidson. He was the man on a team that had very little talent and was put into a position where he was the main scorer.
Check out these stats from other players in their final years of their college career:
Stephen Curry - 28 points, 5.6 assists and 4.4 rebounds
Lindsey Hunter (Jackson State) 26 points, 3 assists (10th pick)
Adonal Foyle (Colgate) - 24 points, 13 rebounds and 6.4 blocks (9th pick)
Michael Olowokandi (Pacific) 22 points, 11 rebounds and 2.9 blocks (1st pick)
Yinka Dare (George Washington) 15 points and 10 rebounds (14th pick)
Antonio Daniels (Bowling Green) 24 points and 6.8 assists (4th pick)
Bonzi Wells (Ball State) 22 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists (11th pick)
Rodney White (Charlotte) 18 points and 6.5 rebounds (9th pick)
Chris Kaman (C. Michigan) 22 points, 11 rebounds and 3.2 blocks (6th pick)
Patrick O'Bryant (Bradley) 13 points, 8 rebounds (9th pick)
I can probably keep going with guys picked later in the first round, but all were lottery picks except Dare. Thats not just the names I randomly pulled with guys from small schools in the last decade. Thats pretty much all of them! None would be considered lottery worthy according to their career, but all put up some pretty impressive numbers while in college. I don't think there is anyting special enough about Curry to where he can change all that.
