Default Rod Benson

Okay, so Rod Benson has been added to the Pacers training camp roster. My question is, would there be any chance for this guy to get on the team? I mean, he has some talent, and has shown some upside.

My thoughts would be to unload a point guard (Preferably Diener). When you think about it, do we really need him? He doesn't play defense, and we have plenty of outside threats that can shoot the 3-ball late in games.

He is a versatile, athletic player who is much like Solomon Jones. But when it all comes down to it, I think I'd rather put Benson on this team than Diener.

I have heard Rod Benson is an excellent rebounder and defensive player. That is something the Pacers and pretty much any NBA team could use. The Pacers are loaded at Benson's positions (power forward & center) though. Murphy, McRoberts, Hansbrough, S. Jones, Foster, and Hibbert are already on the roster. Crazy things have happened in the NBA, but it is going to be tough for Mr. Benson. Even if the Pacers moved Diener it would still be very tough.

Very true, completely forgot that McRoberts was even on the team (Not the first time it's happened )

I think there's a bit of PR involved in it. Not to say the guy doesn't have game, seems like he has plenty from his D League stats, but he writes a very popular blog. Maybe hoping to get some good pub out there for the team, and if they find a player in the process all the better. I just don't see space for him, too many guaranteed deals on the roster.

Him and Roy would be a seriously funny duo though.
