Default Bulls have the most depth in the east.

Yesterday in the NBA forum, I created a thread talking about which teams from each conference have the most depth . In the east I picked the Bulls and in the west I picked the Mavs. The reason I made this thread on this forum is to see what you Bulls fans think. A majority of the people that replied totally agreed with my two picks.

Im biased but in the east its Raptors then Bulls in regards to depth.
tonights game should be a indication in that it'll have a regular season atmosphere.
PS. Ben Wallace will have much lower numbers this year then his last few in Detroit. Way over rated player.
Other than that, you guys look real good this year. good luck

No way man, the top three east teams with depth would have to be

(no specific order)

Bulls
Cavs
Heat

The Raptors have a good team but none of these players proved anything so how can you say that you have the most depth

Bargnani
Garbojosa
Humpries
Darrick Martin
Slokar
Sow
Tucker
=
proven nothing

And Rasho is horrible

When 7 of your 15 players havnt proved anything and 1 (Rasho) doesnt even belong in the NBA how do they have the most depth?

At the end of the season NOT PRESEASON when your team has played together and if they have team succes and individual succes than you can say your team has the most depth in the east

bulls are getting overrated when it comes to depth. i mean... you have nocioni, duhon, thomas as your main bench guys. if you want you can count sweetney but hes nothing special.

detroit has a top-tier bench this year. some of our main bench players:

flip murray - proven starter specializes in penetrating the lane and knocking down the outside shot, can play both guard positions. averaged 20 something ppg when starting in seattle
mcdyess - on of the best sixth men in the league. can play monster D and has a nice jumper for a big man.
maxiel - future star if he continues at this pace. averaged 15/6 in 24 mpg in the preseason. strong strong guy. gets to the FT line A LOT, although he only averages 56% ft shooting. slams it down hard and grabs a lot of offensive boards. only 23 years old.
hunter - one of the top defensive guards in the league. can knock down the three with concistency. very smart player.

i dont think chicago really has any more depth than detroit. perhaps less.

obviously the bulls fans would agree with you... so you're just going to ignore anybody who disagree with you?

i just want to know whats so special about your bench. if you could give a little overview of your best bench guys i'd like that.

Whats so special about the Bulls bench:

Thomas and Sefolosha, two rooks who are "ready for primetime"
Viktor Khyrapa who is showing why he was drafted to the Big League
Adrian Griffith brings experience and defense
Noce is just a nutjob on defense and offense (in a good way)
Malik and Sweets adds size and toughness
Martynas is a 7'-2" big body who could be the next Luc Longley
Duhon adds explosiveness and defense
Barrett could fill Jannero's role on the team as a three point shooter and defensive minded PG

So are the Bulls going to sign Barrett over Schenscher? If they had to choose than Barrett would be the better choice because Marty looks better than Luke. Is it possible for the team to sign both players?

I don't know it's possible.

By the way, Condolences to the family of Red Auerbach who passed away today at age 89 due to a heart attack.

those arent your main guys. thats every signle non-starter on your team. you're not going to use half those guys with any consitency. even if you used a 12 man rotation every night you would have to leave off at least 3 of the guys you named. And I doubt you'll even use a 12 man rotation.

So I was just wondering who are your MAIN guys off the bench... I'm assuming they are nocioni, duhon, thabo, thomas, and sweetney. I really dont think thats any better than detroit. Its a nice amount of depth but not really worth calling the best in league.

Detroit have :

Flip: Who is a great 6th man, good scorer and defender.
Mcdyess: A little old but good defender and rebounder.
Maxiel: He is nothing yet, your foolish if you take pre season performances too seriously.
Hunter: Decent back up nothing special.

The Bulls have the ideal bench because there bench does so many different roles.
Duhon is the ideal back up PG, Solid and makes right decisions everytime.
Noce is a nutjob on D, whoever comes off the bench out of he and deng will be 6th man of the year candidate.
Thomas is explosive and could change a game in 2 minutes.
Viktor is a handy guy who can score and rebound well.
We dont know much about Thabo yet.

These will be the main guys, others like Sweetney, Malik and Griffen I wouldnt expect to play much, although they would be good enough for most other teams.
That bench is much better than Detroits, there is much more talent and versatility on that Bulls bench then Detroit.
But for the record, I think Miami has the most depth east not the Bulls.

first you say dont take preseason performances seriously. then you go and say tyrus thomas is explosive and can change a game in 2 minutes, even though he has yet to play one real game. talk about being hypocritical. and just to let you know maxiell did better playing similar minutes.

you obviously aren't very educated about detroit's players. flip murray is a starting caliber guard. he averaged 20 something ppg when he replaced ray allen in seattle and I think around 15 ppg when he replaced larry hughes due to injury in cleveland.

lindsey hunter is one of the best defensive point guards in the league. he defended lebron james in critical stretches during last years series vs the cavs. he ended up stripping bron on the cavs last possesion in a close game.

hunter > duhon
flip murray > thabo
mcdyess > sweetney
maxiel = thomas

your an idiot, thomas was the 4th pick in the draft, and would have been pick 2 in the draft had the bulls not fooled portland... its safe to talk about him contributing as he is obviously good enough, when was this guy maxiel who i've never heard of drafted???

Hunter greater than duhon? good one.

Maxiel = thomas??? your a dreamer.

Mcdyess is better than sweetney but i dont recall even suggesting sweetney would be in the rotation, so we will change this one to mcdyess v nocioni, which noce wins hands down.

you have 3 decent reserves and 1 unknown.

Bulls have 5 or 6 and and some unknowns.

Detroits bench isnt very good, why do you think your starting 5 played such heavy minutes all season last year?

I think the reason why you think your bench is better is because u compare your best bench players to us and yet dont even add our best bench player Nocioni and other good bench players like Viktor Khryapa. So ofcourse your bench is better if you dont add our best bench players but you add Detroits best bench players when ur trying to c whose bench is better.

To me trying to compare Detroit bench to another team is kind of weird for the fact that no one averages 20 minutes off the bench except Antonio McDyess.
