Default Trade: My Jennings for his Amare?

This is a keeper H2H league with these cats:

FG%

FT%

3PTM

PTS

REB

AST

ST

BLK

TO

He is offering me his Amare for my B.Jennings. To me this seems like a no brainer and I should accept but am I missing something? I know Jennings has had an unbelievable rookie season, but we are talking about Amare.

What do you guys think?

this is my team btw:

Guards:

Brandon Jennings
Roger Mason
Courtney Lee
Devin Harris
George Hill
Jameer Nelson

Forwards:
Shane Battier
Renaldo Balkman
Louis Amundson
Caron Butler
Andrei Kirilenko

Centers:

Emeka Okafor
Zaza Pachulia
Marcin Gortat
Marc Gasol

You don't keep the whole roster for next season, you will get to choose 4 or 5 keepers.

In any format but keeper I would jump this trade in a milisecond... but keeper...
You are taking a gamble either way really... look how quick CP3 became the best fantasy player in the game. Jennings is looking as good as any rookie has in years.
Amare is off to a fairly slow start even in the system that made him a fantasy stud.... so...
Really, as much as I wouldn't offer Amare for Jennings in keeper, I wouldn't give up on Jennings for anything short of the big 3.

Call me crazy, but i've been doing keeper for years now and have won my last 2 championships and something tells me Jennings is a top 5 player in the making (next 2 years which is what keeper is all about).

Thanks for the reply. I agree with you on Jennings, he seems to be the real deal and that is also why I drafted him. I just might reject this offer as you imply, at least I will have to think about it for a while. I will let the offer sit on the table for some time before I make up my mind.

Do the trade. This is the ultimate sell high, buy low. Jennings might turn out to be a stud 1st rounder in the future, but you're getting a perennial one in return RIGHT NOW. You make this trade and don't think twice

I really can't argue with this logic at all, everything I said was just how I feel about Jennings' potential. He was arguably the player with the most potential in the draft but with a lot of question marks on his record... he has erased a lot of them already and I don't think it's a fluke.

Yes, definitely take that deal, especially in a keeper.

he just "uped" his trade to: Steve Nash and Amare for my Jennings and Marc Gasol.

Remember this is a keeper league. Should I do this trade or just Jennings for Amare?

Isn't the purpose of fantasy leagues to win? IMO, it's way to early to be worrying about keeper deals. Amare for Jennings is a no brainer, and even in a keeper league, it's not like Amare is old. You'd have basically the top rated Centre.

As for the new offer, depends on needs but I certainly think it's a steal for you. I might try and squeeze even more out of this GM as he appears to be focused way too much on Jennings recent outburst. Try and upgrade another player and make it a 3 for 3.

Keeper league doesn't mean you have to always keep young guys. Keeping Nash for one more year isn't a bad move, even though he's old.

The consensus here says you should trade Jennings for Amare and I can't argue that. Nash for Gasol is a hard trade to grade for keepers too because Gasol has come out like a monster, but so has Nash who is aging very gracefully in terms of NBA decline.

Doing the 2 for 2 gives you a lot more win now value, but I would try to sneak in another one of your weakest players for a mid value type guy from him... what does his roster look like?

here is his roster:

Mike Conley

Will Bynum

Mario Chalmers

LeBron James

Darko Milicic

Kevin Durant

Amar'e Stoudemire

Etan Thomas

Thabo Sefolosha

Eric Maynor

Mikki Moore

Steve Nash

Jason Thompson

Channing Frye

Arron Afflalo

I just made this counteroffer to see how far he would go to get Jennings:

MY:
Jennings, Caron Butler, Battier, Marc Gasol

for his:
Amare, Nash, Durant and Thompson.
