The Houston Texans will place second-year running back Steve Slaton on injured reserve today with a shoulder injury, reports NFL.comís Steve Wyche.
Slaton, the teamís leading rusher and second-leading receiver, missed the Texansí Week 13 loss at Jacksonville after experiencing numbness in the tip of his right thumb. According to the teamís website, Slaton said last Friday that he did not think his injury was too serious. He visited a Dallas-area specialist on Tuesday to get evaluated.
Chris Brown and Ryan Moats have seen the bulk of the action when Slaton is not in the lineup.
