The Charlotte Bobcats cut Kevin Burleson Monday to trim the roster to the NBA's 15-man limit.
The decision was not a surprise, except that it leaves the Bobcats without a third point guard behind Raymond Felton and Brevin Knight. However, Knight's return to health, after spraining an ankle early in the preseason, might have been a factor.
With 15 players left, entering the Bobcats' opener Wednesday at home against the Indiana Pacers, the team will deactivate three players each game. Alan Anderson (back spasms) will likely be one of those three inactive players, at least for the first week.
We kinda needed a third point guard but other than that the decision doesn't bother me. Maybe if we needed a third guy to run the point, Matt Carroll could do it.
I'm happy with this too. Yeah it does leave us short at point if one of the 2 big names gets injured but if that was long term then could sign someone off FA and if was only for a couple of games sure the other could step up his minutes to mean someone like B. Robinson who played a bit there pre-season or one of the back-up SG's would only be at point for 8-10 mins a game max I'd have thought.
