Default Which is more true about Jamarcus Russell?

A) Oakland is a setup for failure, and he would've done much better under good coaching and a good organization.

B) He's lazy and doesn't care about doing his best. His work ethic set him up for failure.

C) He's just not talented.

b

This isn't about a hard working athlete being misused by a bad organization. This is about a lazy s.o.b. with no work ethic in a bad organization.

He is athletic for his size and can make all the throws as he showed while at LSU. His problem is that he is a mental midget with a poor work ethic.

F) Failure. He is a lazy ass, overpaid, hyped over one bowl game against a team with no defense and one of the worst number one overall picks EVER.

His problem is the talent you thought you saw at LSU was imaginary.

Just another prime example of a system success in College who never put in the time, effort, or work to make it to the next level. Being big and having a strong arm aint enough. Poor man's version of Culpetter. Very poor.

I disagree. What did him in was he didn't have the drive to work on the talent and become consistent as well as a lack of drive to fix his weaknesses. Plenty of talented guys who didn't have the work ethic to realize you can't get by in the NFL on just your natural athleticism.

B and C apply to him about equally. First, his work ethic is absolutely horrible. He has to weigh around 300 pounds these days and cannot even move like he used to. Even the taller quarterbacks(ex: Brady, Leftwich, Bledsoe, Testaverde) weighed max 250 pounds. They could still move fairly quickly.

To me, he's not talented. He thrived under a certain system in college. There have been many players that did extremely well in college, but could not do anything in the NFL(ex: Matt Leinart).

I agree that B relates to him and he should have done better and worked harder, but really who did he have to pass to?

Just another example of a QB that wasn't worthy of the #1 pick. David Carr, Tim Couch, Alex Smith(even though he is coming around), and Michael Vick are the others.
