Default Phil Jackson at it again, back to his old tricks

http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angele...ory?id=5189958

Declares to media Nash is hard to simulate in practice because he's always palming the ball

"Yeah, because you can't carry the ball like he does in practice," Jackson said, smiling as he moved his arm and turned over his palm, the symbol for an illegal carry in the unofficial sign language of basketball. "You can't pick that ball up and run with it."

My reaction to this is best equated to this guy: Sasha Vujacic. I love to make fun of him just like you guys do, but then one day I had an epiphany. He plays for the Lakers in the city of LA, he's a millionaire, and he's doing Maria Sharapova. There comes a moment when you just realize you have nothing on the guy anymore, so I've quit making fun of Vujacic.

I would normally say Phil is petty and this is idiotic, but I just can't argue anymore with 10 rings, and him having the benefit of some of the most lopsidedly referee'ed games in playoff history. So maybe it works.

The man is not a coach he is a psychologist.
He knows how to get in peoples head
I think what he said about Durant threw his game off just as much as Artest defense

Wow, Phil would have a legit argument but Kobe does the same thing except it's even more obvious to the naked eye.

Nash will barely ever be called for carrying. Everyone does what Nash does. He just does it better than 99% of the league, that's all.

This is what I've been saying for awhile. Phil isn't a coach, the X's and O's go to Tex Winter. He's a game manager. Phil is the guy you bring in when you know you have the best personnel in the league but with which comes egos/drama/and prima donnas, and you need to turn that into a championship TEAM.(Not nearly as easy as it sounds).

Best story I ever heard about Phil was from a Luc Longley interview. When playing in the Finals vs. Utah, Rodman was sluggish all up and down the court and wasn't himself. Luc Longley described Rodman as visually looking unwell, and said it looked like he even had the shakes or something. Phil thought the problem was that in the middle of Mormon country, there was absolutely NOTHING for Rodman to do. So what he did was he sent him on a plane to Vegas for a night, told him to get all that crap out of his system, and come back refreshed.

And then Rodman showed up the next game.

I was dumbfounded and shocked when I heard it. But yes, multiple sources and tabloids all had the coverage. It's true and it's a travesty.

Apparently game off the court does not translate to game on the court.
