Why not add Shaq?

I don't keep up with the salary cap much, but I was thinking we should cut Dampier and sign Shaq. I think he could still start and serve the same role as he did in Cleveland much like the Bobcats have been doing. I think he would still be more productive than a healthy Chandler and I think Nazr could easily come in for the other 24-25 mins as a rotator.

Does Shaq demand more money than Charlotte has to offer, or whats the deal? He's old and what not, but he's still one of the top guys that we could pick up. I think he would be very effective and he may even have a better season in Charlotte than he did in Cleveland.

Anyways, your thoughts?

I suspect that he has enough clout that he could nix any trade that would possibly bring him to this market.

MJ just might be able to lure him here if that's what he wants. It still leaves us without a point guard though.

Shaq will never play for us. We aren't a championship contender. The only teams I see him playing for this year are Boston, Miami, Orlando, and the Lakers. Why? Because they're championship contenders.

Shaq won't play for a contender again, only pretenders. No contender wants to deal with Shaq's ego. The 6 year ago Shaq could play with anyone, but the current Shaq will play with a decent team looking for some buzz, like the Nuggets. Maybe he gets lucky and the Heat bring him on board to win one more before he bites the dust. Shaq is not quite at AI level yet but getting close. The name precedes the talent.
