FOXBORO -- Agent Terry Watson has come out in support of Brandon Spikes with regard to sex tapes that have surfaced on the Internet involving the Patriots [team stats] rookie linebacker.
Watson, who represents the team’s second-round draft pick, said he was aware of the situation, and had spoken to his client last night.
“It’s an embarrassing situation for Brandon,” Watson said when reached today. “It certainly doesn’t reflect the kind of person that he is.”
The Patriots, meanwhile, “had no comment at this time,” according to Aaron Salkin, assistant director of media relations.
The story first started when an emailer claimed to have a sex tape of “a prominent second-rounder from this year’s draft” and wanted to share it with the world. The emailer offered it up to the Web site Deadspin.com for $1,500, according to the site. After Deadspin declined to pay, images and a video appeared and has spread like wildfire around the Internet.
According to a source familiar with the situation, the video was recorded when Spikes was in college.
