Default Top 10 Wide Receivers

According to Deion Sanders on NFL Network:

1. Andre Johnson
2. Calvin Johnson
3. Larry Fitzgerald
4. Reggie Wayne
5. Brandon Marshall
6. Randy Moss
7. Anquan Boldin
8. Steve Smith
9. Desean Jackson
10. Roddy White

What do you think?

That's the truth. There's probably 8 guys who are going to be in everyone's list and the other 2 depends on who's picking. I too would have Miles in there over DeSean but it doesn't mean someone with DeSean in there is "wrong".

If we're talking pure talent, I have B Marshall sitting right up there behind Andre. Already on pace for his 4th 100+ catch year in a row with his 3rd different QB. He's one of the toughest WR's to tackle too. I think that guy is absolutely amazing away from his mental makeup.

Oh yeah and I'm sure he's talking this season, but if we include VJax and Sidney Rice they're on the list. Especially Sid Rice.

Receiver is probably the most dependent position in the NFL. A lot of depends on whether or not you have a competent quarterback who can at least throw the ball. For instance, if this was your first season ever watching the NFL, you'd have no idea that Larry Fitzgerald is one of the best receivers in the game. Where would his numbers be if he had even a semi-decent quarterback (and not arguably the worst one in the NFL or Mike Hall). A player can run the perfect route, but it doesn't matter if the ball just sails over his head.

I be he calls Kurt Warner up daily. Matt Leinart was this bad? Wow.

Personally I have Roddy White a couple of spots higher right now.

Top 5 for me right now:
1) Andre Johnson
2) Larry Fitzgerald
3) Brandon Marshall
4) Calvin Johnson
5) Reggie Wayne

Yeah Iīve seen every Cardinals game this season and itīs hard watching such an elite wide receiver wasting his time because he has such a horrible QB in Derek Anderson.

I can't imagine that Matt Leinart was that bad, and at least in the pro games that he did play, he certainly didn't prove to be that bad. To me it strikes me as Whisenhunt not really liking Leinart from the outset and wanting it to be his team and bringing in his guys. You see it all the time though, coaches pay lip service to giving certain highly touted players that they didn't pick, but ultimately dooming them to failure. I don't think Leinart was going to be a very good quarterback, but he probably could've been a serviceable quarterback (at the very least he could've gotten Fitzgerald the ball).
