Default Do you remember...

Does anyone remember this arcade, where on every level you turn into a warewolf, a dragon, a bear and so on... I can't remember the name of the game I just remember the first level was in a cementary and you had to fight a flying head.

Some of you might be too young to even know what the hell I'm even talking about.

I had this game on both the Sega and Sega Genesis systems. Generally an overrated game in my opinion.

yip, the game is indeed Altered Beast - which is originally an arcade game and later ported to the Sega consoles… Sega made it the initial pack in for the Genesis in an effort to highlight it's graphics power and seemless arcade port capability… with that, the 'Altered Beast' Genesis models are the most sought after models as they don't have the lock out bios and the sound is supposedly a bit better…

Edit: I just googled it, and realized that they also have this game on PS2

IIRC this game was included with the Sega Mega Drive (I think it was named Genesis in America only), so that might be the reason for its popularity.

Yup, it was packaged with the first Genesis systems released here. Later to be replaced by Sonic the Hedgehog as the pre-packaged game.

I believe it's exclusive to Japan… part of the Sega Ages line…

yeah… Genesis was the name in only North America, the rest of the world kept it's native name of Mega Drive… it was common during these days for consoles to be 'renamed' as well as redesigned for North America… though the Mega Drive actually kept it's native form across the world…
