Default Renaldo Balkman

Before the season started people were bashing him before he can even play a game. The other night he had his Rookie High 18 points and 7 Rebounds. The point i'm trying to make is why were people bashing the pick? We did pass up marcus williams but so did 20 other teams. Balkman is contributing by his defense, hustle, rebounding and hard work.

Let's talk about Saer Sene and others who haven't done nothing yet.

To say a #20 pick was the worst pick of the first round is bad, JJ was a bad pick at what he went, kid just hit his first jumpshot.

Zeke was bashed because he did the unexpected after doing so many stupid things so we must not blame the bashers.

But we must give credid where it's due, Isaiah drafts have been exemplary. Look at David Lee. Balkman looks like he's gna be one of those long lasting energy guys.

yeah balkman really can play and has good basketball IQ. but maybe we could've drafted marcus in the first round then pickup balkman via fa or 2nd round. nobody expected he will be drafted. we could've use marcus or atleast use him as a trade bait

Default 2nd Round

Yes the main issue with fans was that balkman was so under scouted that he could have easily slipped to the second round had isaih picked another player. At the same time New York doesn't need a guard (Marcus Williams) considering that they're stacked at the posistion. Balkman today seems like a solid pick and will not make thomas or the city of new york regret the pick.

Why not just give Isiah the scouting job(with no power to do anything ) and bring in a real GM and coach.

because NO ONE ELSE was going to pick him until the mid 2nd round. the knicks wasted their pick.

People say it was a wasted pick. So if that's true right now who is playing better that got drafted after balkman?

Please quit bashing Renaldo. If the Gamecocks had not fallen to the Gators in the SEC basketball tourney you like SEC hoopheads would have known who he was and how good he was. He was actually a Jr. when he decided to test the draft process and a relative unknown so he probably had to have some kind of promise that he would be drafted. Reports (from Sports Illustrated) said he was one the more impressive guys in Orlando. He received props every day. The Knicks need fewer players who need the ball and more players like Renaldo and David Lee who can affect the game without the rock. He is invaluable for the energy he brings to practices alone. Plus if you draft in the second round he may not have stuck on the roster because of the glut of players on the Knicks and their terrible guaranteed contracts. If only he could quit bricking freethrows. PS. to Knick fans stop letting ESPN cloud your judgement of your GM, he has actually cobbled together an impressive core of talent that is starting to produce. They are one hot streak away from not being laughingstocks anymore.

Exactly. Good post. Balkman's making people realize that he deserved to be a 1st rnd pick.
