The newest big man on the Trail Blazers roster, for now at least, is NBA journeyman Sean Marks. Portland signed the 35-year-old power forward on Saturday to a non-guaranteed, one-year contract. The Blazers were even more in need of a big body after the retirement Thursday of veteran Fabricio Oberto, also 35, who had suffered recent heart palpitations. Portland already had been without injured centers Greg Oden and Joel Przybilla and injured power forward Jeff Pendergraph, who was released and is out for the season with a knee injury. Marks will be in uniform Saturday night when the Blazers play host to the Toronto Raptors at the Rose Garden. “I’ve got to make my presence known in the paint,” Marks said. “I think defense and rebounding are the keys. They’ve got enough guys who can score.”

How can we sign this guy who's a sh!t with some good players from Europe and D-League trying to get in NBA? I just don't get sometimes.
Yeah, terrible signing. He looked lost on defense. As much as I thought Oberto was unproductive, at least Oberto stood in the correct spots to at least make opponents have to strategize to get around tim.

We are signing old guys with some experiences but with 0 talent now, i don't understand.
How much are we regretting this signing w Dampiernow available since his signing w Houston fell through???? Not EVEN claiming that he would be some kind of savior for us, but he would be a viable backup option....

Only if he'd sign cheap. Once his minutes disappear because our bigs return, we could simply release him if he starts whining.
