The Miami Dolphins will start Chad Pennington at quarterback against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, coach Tony Sparano announced Wednesday.
Pennington replaces Chad Henne, who has been inconsistent this season with eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions for the 4-4 Dolphins.
In making the change, Sparano said the move wasn't "an indictment on [Henne's] future."
The 34-year-old Pennington started for the Dolphins during the 2008 season after being released by the New York Jets and led Miami to the AFC East title.
Henne, who was drafted by Miami in the second round of the 2008 draft, took over as the team's starter last season.
I am pretty surprised by this move. I thought Henne would be their quarterback of the future.
FFS, hes in my fantasy team!!¬ first romo goes down, now his replacement is benched, man has one bad game and they can him WTF?
Pick up Fitzpatrick, Bradford, Hill (Shaun), Garrard, etc.. Any of those guys should fill in more than admirably. I'd rather have any of them than Henne anyways
Pick up Josh Freeman if he's available too. He'll get you 3-5 points running along with his passing stats. If he's not there, I'd prefer Shaun Hill out of those options.
I thought the Fins got rid of Pennington..I guess not. And yeah it's an alright decision. The Dolphins aren't having much success at all with Henne at QB, 8 TD, 10 INT's isn't gonna cut it.

problem with Freeman is TB is too conservative of a offense. i have him and he has potential but he doesn't throw enough, and they definitely won't throw much if its close or they're up. its why like half of their games end up last minute drives to win or tie it.
anyways i've always liked Pennington even if he's a lobber. he gets the ball where it needs to go generally and its always surprised me that he always ends up a backup. i'd take Hill for fantasy before Pennington tho. and put Freeman behind them both.
Tyler Thigpen=best Qb the Fins got they should try and turn to him if Pennington falters.
Good call.
I'm just wondering why I didn't play the over/under on how long it would take for Pennington to hurt his shoulder. Is it true it happened when he picked up a breakfast burrito from the pre-game spread?

Pennington should've had a better NFL career. he should'n't have been a backup for the past few years. theres a lot of scrub, young starting QB's that are more detrimental to their offense than Pennington where he would've done wonders for some teams imo but they're all about developing for the future based on some rocket arm, LB size, etc. trying to clone Rothlisberger/Flacco.
anyways really disappointing way to end his career. sad.

Chad isnt dependable and neither was his arm strength. Teams like to go downfield. Chad was weak in that department. And those young scrub QBs dont break down so easily like good ole Chad. Thats proven. So while a franchise is worried about developing thier future rocket arm, LB sized QB? Another team gives Chad a chance only to watch him go on the injured list. Backup he goes.
