Default Watching The Jazz Just Depresses Me

I'm watching Boozer this season and all i can do is shake my head thinking about how good the Cavs would be with him on the team still. If we had just dished out a little more we would've been dominating the east right now.

Where do you think the Cavs would be if they still had him? Finals appearance? Championship?

We didn't let him go.

He left on his own. Remember?

He agreed to a verbal contract and bolted when offered more money.

Stupid Front Office move.

That said...I guess we all have telepathy because I was thinking the same thing.

He was poorly utilized here. He was forced into a rebounding role when he had the talent, the will and the offensive skills to contribute.

Stupid Coaching move.

Still, I remember how injured and poorly he contributed to the Nuggets the first two years there. The whole town boo'ed him and lamented the trade.
It was only the last month of last year and of course this year that his talents have shined.

Still, time to be pragmatic.

Too bad Gooden is so inconsistent. I still think that Gooden is a similar player as Boozer, without the "over-achieving chip" that Boozer employs.
I really wish that each player on the team had a few set plays tailored to their strengths. Each player has a favorite spot on the floor. It would be genius if that strategy could be employed a few plays in a game.

Which is exactly what's happening with Z right now. Poorly utilized. When was the last time they ran a play for him?

When is his contract up? I see Z bolting for another team and helping them tremendously if he can do it in the next season or 2 before he really is ready for retirement.

Ilgauskas agreed to a five-year deal..

Ilgauskas's contract is worth between $55 and $60 million.

What happened so far this year offensively is the same short-sighted strategy the Brown's employed with Winslow before his injury.

Remember when the whole offensive strategy developed during the off season was to employ him in 40% of the offensive sets. When he got injured on that onside kick the Brown's were stuck with revamping the whole offense.

This summer's strategy was similar as the new motion offense involves 40% of the offensive sets for Hughes.

No wonder they look lost.

The Cav's best games last year started with getting Ilgauskas the ball early in the game and establishing that part of the offense. That opened up the outside game. Trying to employ him as a high pick man is just stupid. He is too slow and you remove him from the paint where he is one of the top offensive rebounders in the league.

I have a feeling the Cav's will struggle until not only hughes returns to the lineup, but for a long time after before the team learns what works or not.

Thank you. I thought I was the only one talking sense around here.
