Larry Brown OUT as Bobcats coach. Paul Silas named interim replacement
Charlotte Bobcats Chairman and CEO Michael Jordan announced today that Larry Brown is stepping down as head coach of the team, effective immediately.
“I met with Coach Brown two weeks ago about the team’s performance and what we could do to improve it. We met again this morning after practice. The team has clearly not lived up to either of our expectations and we both agreed that a change was necessary,” Jordan said.

"This was a difficult decision for both of us, but one that needed to be made. I want to thank Larry for everything he has done for our team. He has played a key role in this organization’s development, including coaching us to our first playoff appearance last season. Larry will continue to be a valuable advisor to me regarding the team. The search for a successor will begin immediately."
Brown was named the third head coach in team history on April 29, 2008, and compiled a record of 88-104 (.458) in two-plus seasons with the Bobcats.

Larry's lost it.
He couldn't get it done with the Knicks and had an ugly divorce their, and this one doesn't look to good on his resume either.
In a way, it's too bad for him, MJ is an incompetent GM, and the team never shored up their PG or C position. At the same time, there still is talent on the team but they have been embarrassed several times this season.

The Bobcats won 44 games last years... they expected them to win more by losing Raymond Felton and trading Tyson Chander to the Mavs for Eduardo Najera

he can come to the heat as an assistant coach to improve the defense. Jordan didnt want to let him go in the offseason, and he looked like he was hoping to get hired by the cavaliers if lebron was going to stay. might just be me though.

They had a solid point guard in Felton and they let him go.
They have had some lousy draft picks - guys who have done absolutely nothing and will be out of the league soon enough.
That said - I'm glad Larry Brown is gone.
Now he needs to get on the highway and head to the ATL.
He could really do something coaching wise with Horford, Smith, Williams, et al.

Brown did a good job last season, but everybody knew it was not going to be a longterm commitment. He probably leaves because he sees the Bobcats for what they are right now: a lottery team with very little potential to get better.
