Your only alternative is to work the streets, tossing salads for loan payments. Welcome to the working world. I know it doesn't thrill you. I hope it doesn't kill you.

Keep in mind that is 8 years of schooling (most of it being the past 4 years of grad school).

what are you studying? im attending community then transferring out to universtiy as soon as i get my pre requisites.

when i worked for a law firm, some lady called asking if she could file bankruptcy for her 200,000 debt in school loans...she attended law school but wasn't able to pass the bar, she used all her exam attempts(in cali). that bar over in cali is no joke, considered one of the most difficult to pass in the nation. sucks for her...you can't rid of school loans through bankruptcy.

Damn that is nuts! I couldn't imagine being in that much debt after I graduate. I'll be done with undergrad this semester but if I decide to go to grad school, I'll be in the major debt boat like yourself.

I've been pretty lucky in undergrand though, I believe I only owe 2k. Thank you camp scholarships

I had 0 debt after undergrad. Then decided to go to law school and put myself in 100k worth of debt.

My advice is that debt sucks...be happy you don't have any.

I just graduated and I was in school 4.5 years for a BS in civil engineering at UT austin and I ended up with 20k in loans. Not too bad, nothing I can't handle.

Educational debt for professional school is not a bad debt. I paid mine off in half the time I was allotted.

Oh I definitely am. I always hear about the horror stories of people in so much debt from school that it completely overwhelms them. It's constantly over their heads for years. You definitely have to make sure it's worth the investment or it could backfire on you quickly.
