Im a huge Rose fan. My second fave player in the nba right now. and in my eyes hes the CLEAR mvp this season.
but whats up with his shot selection since the AS break?
I mean the Bull's have been winning handily despite it. But does anyone else get the feeling hes trying maybe a bit too hard to sew up the MVP award by volume scoring? I feel hes forcing a lot of shots and getting BLOCKED at the rim a lot more than he used to.
Maybe he needs to relax a bit and let the game come to him, like he did the first 50 games of the season. Today he only had 2 assists for example.
I don't think he's taken much worse shots, as he always taken pretty tough shots, and he's not to terribly consistent. However, there are two or three shots he takes every games where he'll pull up in transition or an early jump shot that he really doesn't need to take. They aren't efficient and just trying to get his team mates a shot by the basket instead is really a simple thing, but is also one of the bigger things keeping him from being a top tier player.
The problem is that he's pretty much let his mid-range game die in a hole. Which sucks, cuz his mid range pull ups in transition were badass. He seems a little tired too, I just hope he figures it out before the playoffs.
Too many 3s and he seems to have forgotten he was the best midrange shooter PG last year. Since the allstar break he has been passing less and shooting more.
Doesn't have good and reliable offensive options on that team so he's panicking and taking risks trying to do it on his own.
There's a reason the bulls rely on him more for offense than any other team relies on a player for offense. He's over 45% of their total offense. And this is because there just isn't enough good offensive options on that team,
And it will bite them hard in the playoffs when teams hunker down and game plan them properly for a series.

This pretty much sums it up. Once Boozer comes back, and the bulls start clicking, it'll be less of a pressure for rose to take the offense on his own hands.

but even when boozer was their, he still shot alot in some games. I think he's doing too much and might bite them in the playoffs.

Remember that stabbing thing we were talking about earlier?

Thoughts?
he's fallen in love with the 3 ball and is taking pull up 3s and off balanced 3s and aspect of the 3 ball that he has yet to master. therefore they arent falling the way his spot up 3s were falling earlier in the year. Thibbs needs to curtail his 3pt shots and urge rose to rely on that sweet mid range shot he has
