Actually, I've just been on a basketball book kick. I asked for b-ball books for Christmas.
I read Bird's book: Drive: The Story of My Life, The Book of Basketball by Bill Simmons, FreeDarko Presents: The Undisputed Guide to Pro Basketball History, the Bird and Magic book,
On my someday to read list, I have The Breaks of the Game and Playing for Keeps: Michael Jordan by David Halberstam, The Jordan Rules.
Also I just saw The Lincoln Lawyer, pretty good flick.
I liked that Dennis Rodman book, Bad As I Want To Be. I also read both of Phil Jackson's books. Oh yeah, the Jordan autobiography, and a regular biography about him. Didn't realize I read so many. I thought it would have been like 3.
If I had some money I would buy a self feeding scanner, rip all the pages of some of the books, and then batch load the images into an orc program or whatever it's called and turn them into PDFs.
Edit: It's OCR, and it converts texts in images into regular text.
Jayson Williams' book had the same title I think, great book.
Yes, it has the same title. The Williams one is not considered a great book, though. The Terry Pluto book about the ABA is considered a sports classic. If I recall correctly, it was near the top of Sports Illustrated's list of the greatest sports books of all-time.

appreciate the recommendation for the ABA book, but I don't put much stock in "lists". You telling me it was a good read means more to me than a list in SI.
the Jayson Williams book was HILARIOUS....and honest.
I'm sure the book buried him when he went to trial but he's a guy who experienced a HARSH by ANY standards life story and I was amazed that he was able to be such a personable and fun personality despite that.
