Ron Artest suspended one game for striking Jose Barea

Shouldn't a one game suspension be mandatory for Artest after he clearly intentionally clotheslined Barea late in the game across the head? To my knowledge, any intentional contact above the neck is an automatic suspension. Will Artest be suspended for game 3? Should he be, based on league rules/precedent? Discuss.

Well.. it's up to the commissioner (and his team of course). I think he should be suspended for what he did. He hit Barea in the face while he was brining up the ball that's unsportsmanlike conduct and just a nasty move. I like Ron, but he should be suspended for at least 1 game (1 is enough in my opinion).

It's all part of the plan. We've been saving Luke Walton for a game like this.

Walton's stat line after game 3: 8 points 3-4 shooting, 2 rebounds, 4 assists. Those are probably Walton's total numbers for the season.

That was just a playoff foul. That was Artest letting a little dude know he can't do that on the court, then the little man did it again.

That's the playoffs. Don't suspend Artest for that. Just keep an eye on him and be quick with the flagrants.
