Default Official NBL of Canada Thread

Hey people, just thought I would make a thread for this. Might be fun considering some NBA players might be playing over here. Also, you could go to a draft combine if you want

Quote:
TORONTO, ON) The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce the details of its inaugural pre-draft combine and the NBL Canada Draft 2011.

"The NBL Canada pre-draft combine and draft will be groundbreaking for the country," said National Basketball League of Canada President & CEO, Andre Levingston. "The events will mark a new beginning of Canadian basketball talent, and will inspire and encourage the next generation of young Canadian athletes. We're excited that young Canadians can now dream about being a basketball player in their own country."

The two-day combine will be held on Saturday, August 20 and Sunday, August 21 at the Seneca College Sports Centre in Toronto, Ontario. Saturday will serve as free agent day, with Sunday dedicated to Canadian players only.

The NBL Canada Draft 2011 will be held on Sunday, August 21 at 7:00 pm at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.

The draft will consist of three rounds. The first round will draft free agent players only, while the second and third rounds will draft Canadian players only. Only those players who attend the combine will be eligible for the draft.

Will they draft old, white, former high school basketball players?

If so, I'm in.

I play in a Men's league... that's gotta count for something.

I dominate the three-man weave, and am quite skilled at bump.

Where's my invite?

Oh I know. But don't blame it on the car accident. Blame the not coming to play ball that day on the car accident. You biznatch!

It would be awesome if this league slowly become the new alternative to NBDL or Europe from lower-tier players.

It would have to be really slowly. I read the salary cap for an entire team is about $150,000.

It's only first season. As years go on, more sponsorships, more players, the better it looks like the league that people go into to showcase their talent.
