Ricardo Ledo commits to Providence
New Providence coach Ed Cooley has his backcourt set for 2012-13, if the eligibility for highly touted local talent Ricardo Ledo can be worked out.
Ledo, a 6-foot-6 wing, followed Kris Dunn and committed to play for the Friars on Monday.
Ledo, ranked No. 22 in the ESPNU Class of 2012, told ESPN.com he will sign with Providence after committing to the Friars under former coach Keno Davis. Ledo then de-committed and opened up his recruitment where there was initial interest from Kentucky and West Virginia before it came down to the Friars, Connecticut and Syracuse. But the odds always favored the hometown Friars.
Ledo has been in high school for eight semesters at three different high schools, a red flag usually for the NCAA Eligibility Center to work on clearing a player.
