Default 2011 NFL Power Rankings: Week 4

http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings/_/year/2011/week/4

thought this was thread worthy cause the Lions and Bills so high and the Dream Team the lowest in the East...I hate the Eagles and I am not even sure I agree with that one...

I am sold on the Lions if they stay healthy, the Bills I am still not sure about....they don't have stars like Suh and Calvin

Buffalo doesn't have a defensive star like Suh but they do have offensive weapons that matches Detroit's weapons.

Fitzpatrick = Stafford
Stevie = Calvin
Freddie Jackson = Best/Williams

Offensively, Buffalo is the best team in the league right now with 37.6 points per game.

If this is a POWER RANKING, then why is Buffalo, a team who BEAT New England, below NE? Maybe I'm not getting the total concept of a power ranking. NE is the better team, but Buffalo beat them, shouldn't they be ahead of them since power rankings is basically who's been better by the week so far type thing?

Also, SD is way too high. Detroit should be higher than New Orleans.

Best has kinda sucked running the ball this year (receiving is great though), I think that's what's going to hurt Detroit unless Morris, Harrison, or Best himself can improve, passing game for DET is doing awesome though.

the better team should be on top in power rankings...

the better team doesn't always win the game in the NFL...

IMO it should follow exactly as Vegas Odds would...this list doesn't do that

ESPN is horrible actually with power rankings, that list is damn near almost just a list of 3-0 all the way down to 0-3...they just base it off record almost entirely, a 6 year old could do that

Vegas Odds represent the real perception of who is better or who is worse...

IMO a perfect power ranking list would always have the favorite on top of the underdog

Just another year where the Lions, Bills, and Texans are near the top, and the Colts are close to the bottom. Nothing to see here.

My thoughts on the rankings:
-Jets are too high, they only just beat the Cowboys, beat the shitty Jaguars and lost to the Raidazz.
-Texans could get some more love.

Rest of the ranking is pretty good tbh.

I hate the Jets and the Texans are my favorite AFC team....

But your logic in this post is flawed. You say the Jets are too high because they only beat the Cowboys and Jaguars.

Then you say the Texans could get more love. But they've only beat the winless Dolphins and the winless Colts.

Shouldn't the Jets be good right where they at because they lost to YOUR Raiders!?

The difference is though that the Texans went into the Superdome and could of easily beaten the Saints(playoff contender) and gone to 3-0 but I get what you're saying. I do think the Texans are more talented though now that they have worked out a scheme that works for their defense.

It wasn't a terrible loss, east coast team travelling to the west coast and also the Jets would have been focusing on the Ravens game probably.
