That is who they have played so far. So really only one good offense in all of that. And that Niners game was putrid to watch, NEITHER offense did anything all day.

I like the Bengals, so I'm not hating on em. I'm glad they're having such a good start to the season. But I don't think you could consider those teams (aside from Buffalo, who they beat) good offenses.

But then again, I'd like to get mlh's opinion on them, too.

I think they're building towards something elite, but not quite there yet.

Agreed. The stats are slightly misleading but they really have an excellent defense. Their front 7 is very stout. They don't get after the QB as well as some other elite front 7's but they stop the run as well as everyone. They are extremely well coached. Leon Hall is one of the more underrated/under appreciated corners in the league. He's really good.

In recent years, the Bengals have placed a heavy emphasis on drafting defensive talent, and the results are showing. Leon Hall, Geno Atkins, Michael Johnson, Carlos Dunlap, and Rey Maualuga (who was moved to his natural position of MLB) are homegrown, are making an impact.

One name absent from that list is Keith Rivers, who is hurt, and even when healthy, is best known as the guy who got jacked up by Hines Ward. He's a borderline bust at this point.

Gone from the equation are guys like Dhani Jones and Roy Williams, who were basically useless last year. Also, the much publicized loss of Johnathan Joseph at cornerback has yet to come back and haunt us.

Mike Zimmer, the defensive coordinator, is probably a head coach in waiting for somebody. His unit was instrumental in 2009, and is doing a great job again this year.

Safety is a bit of a concern, there have been times where the Bengals have allowed guys to fight for extra yardage without wrapping up, and yes, the schedule gets harder, so we shall see what happens.

I can realistically see 9 or 10 wins for Cincy this season, which is shocking because when I looked at them before the season started, I had them for 3 or 4 wins. Just shows how unpredictable the NFL can be. There's always bad teams from the year before who surprise, and there's always good teams from the year before who disappoint.

The Bengals are doing it the right way for sure. Trading Palmer was HUGE. Now they have even more to work with. They're going about building their team the same way Tampa Bay is...modelling after the GBs and Pittsburghs of the league. As long as they keep drafting well, they'll be a contender for that division while the Steelers and Ravens are aging.

They've had a ridiculously easy schedule so far.

Wow!!!! You guys are severely overlooking the Buffalo Bills. The Bills are one of the most explosive offensive squad in the league, along with the Patriots.

The Bengals held them to 20 points. Cincy's defense is legit!!!
