Default Jerome Jordan may request that Knicks trade his rights

The agent for rookie center Jerome Jordan said he would request a trade if the Knicks decide not to sign him or bring him to training camp, which begins Dec. 9.

With the lockout soon to be officially over, perhaps in a week, Knicks brass will game plan today regarding training-camp invitees and free agency, and one issue that will arise is what to do with the 7-footer who’s playing in Slovenia and has an opt-out clause in his contract there.

Former Knicks president Donnie Walsh paid the Bucks $1 million for the rights to Jordan, who was taken in the second round of the 2010 NBA Draft. But Walsh is no longer empowered, with the trio of interim general manager Glen Grunwald, Mark Warkentien and John Gabriel making decisions for the Knicks.

Invite him to training camp.
If he can help us then sign him.
If not then leave him to play in Europe or trade his rights if you can get something good out of it.

i think they would be happier to give him a deal next year so that it wont take away fromt he cap, but we should atleast trade him for a first rounder then

How do you trade a 2nd rounder that has never played in the NBA for a 1st rounder?

If you're not a jump shooting center I dont know how much use D'Antoni will have for him.

D'antoni plays Turiaf, and he has nothing resembling a jumper.

How many minutes he played is irrelevant to the discussion though.

Turiaf is not a jump-shooting big.

No different than Jeffries and Shelden were not jump shooters either.

D'antoni plays centers who can provide some form of mismatch.

Turiaf was a decent passer out of the post.

Jared guards multiple spots, like Boris Diaw did.

Which is actually why he even played Amar'e at center because of the mismatch on the offensive end, not that I endorse that.

Why not bring him in.I mean every year we bring in guys we know are never going to make the team. Why not take a shot on the guy. I mean you cant get much worse than Jared Jeffries.

This guy looked awful during the Summer League. Hopefully he has improved, but he was really bad.
