I wouldn't have minded Marc Gasol or Deandre Jordan but I have hope in Valanciunas. Although you could probably play Gasol at PF, maybe? Other than those two, I don't see any reasonable signings that would be smart for the long-run.
We need a point guard could it be more obvious? Raps need to sign me to a 10 day. Heck Colangelo would probably over pay me too. We also need a tradition center.
Yeah hopefully nobody. The important thing for this year is keep on tanking to get a high pick and playing the younger guys(Derozan, Davis, Bayless, J. Johnson, Amir) as many minutes as possible.
Unfortunately the only free agent point guards of note are Rodney Stuckey and J.J. Barea, neither of whom are true point guards. Plus Barea is a midget. Wouldn't mind Stuckey for the right price, but Detroit will probably match anything reasonable.

Cheap young players to fill the roster (SF, C), with some slight chances of becoming useful players: Hamed Haddadi, Alexis Ajinca, Shawne Williams.

I wouldn't mind getting a small forward.
Thadeus Young has been improving steadily over the past couple years and is a pretty efficient player. He would probably mesh well with our current core.
Other than that there aren't any fa's I'd like to sign.
I would, however, bid low on Travis Outlaw after his amnesty.
Short one year contracts. Next year when Barbosa comes off the books we'll have even more cap space with a high draft pick and Val coming over, start spending then.
Before drafting Val I would have agreed but now I think we just sign some cheap one year deal center to back-up Bargnani.
I think Gasol could play at PF if Val turns out awesome. But then what do you do with Ed Davis? IMO, he showed some nice promise last year. Then the Raptors will likely have a top pick in a draft filled with PFs and Cs at the top of it. It's tough to project who is going to be at PF and C going forward on this team. I think Valanciuns is a safe assumption at C for now. PF? Who knows. I personally like Ed Davis but if there's a star PF in the draft next year the Raptors can draft him, you go for it.
