Default Tim Tebow or Cam Newton

Which QB would you pick to build your franchise around?

i don't want to use the "r" word but how is this still a question, Tebow in a heartbeat. Cam is just as likely to throw it to the other team as his receivers, and though i know how much he wants to win, he can't. Tebow is a winner. I concur with Florida's choice

in a way the Cam situation reminds me CP always talking about how they want to win but can't sacrifice the personal stats to make it happen. Tebow is polar opposite. He doesn't care how it happens he just makes it happen and gives all the credit to the others.

and it's no wonder why, they have time to catch their breath and the games just go faster than panthers games because Cam is always trying to throw it downfield to pump his stats (even if he has short passes wide open) which stops the game on incompletes, and gets picked a couple times each game which puts the defense in bad spots and they dont get a chance to rest.

Cam. He's showed more as a passer so far and he will grow out of these rookie mistakes/turnovers. He doesn't get the support from his defense that Tebow has been getting either.

I like Tebow tho. I hope he wins the Super Bowl just so I can watch the sports media world explode.

Florida booted Newton because he was royally effing up off the field, if he maintains his C+ and doesn't purchase stolen property he'd have won a Natl Championship after the Tebow era ended. As for the two of them in the NFL it's a tough call. Newton seems to have the better throwing skills but Tebow has the leadership qualities in spades. He'd never say something like what Newton said about bringing his mates up to his level, he's too smart as a leader to make that kind of mistake. Both will no doubt grow as QBs, Newton making better decisions as a passe to lower the INT rate and Tebow eventually will be a consistent passer in the first three quarters. I think I'll go with Tebow because his kind of leadership is unteachable but Newton has been very impressive, don't forget this is a rookie.

Cam has every reason that he SHOULD be better, but Tebow is a better leader and overall smarter player. Cam has the skill set, and the tools, but can he utilize them correctly? The Carolina defense is pretty pathetic, and Rivera has done very shotty playcalling, Rivera should be running the ball more with Stewart & DeAngelo and letting Cam off with less pressure to make plays. Cam saying his teammates need to play to "his level" striked as being arrogant, and did no good to me.

Newton has a better offense around him but Tebow has a great defense. I would take Cam at this point because he's the better passer.

Same reason you knocked Cam Newton because he has a bad defense.

"Cam is all about his stats, so the defense is out there all the time. Derrr derrr derrr"

You can pick Tim Tebow over Cam Newton if you want (clutch performer with his legs and arm, intangibles, leader and non football related you like his personality/character) but the WAY you went about it with your posts are silly. Do you even know Carolina has been smacked with injuries on defense? Nah, its Cam Newton fault they are injured. They are out there all the time because Cam be throwing deep passes to stat pad. Derrr derrr derr.

I'm a Tebow supporter but it's clearly Newton. Cam's made some boneheaded plays this year and the Panthers choked quite a few games (they won't regret this on draft day) but he is a rookie and a lot of it is trying to overcompensate for a terrible defense that's suffered tons of injuries. I think the way Cam's playing right now minus the turnovers is what Tebow can aspire to be as a player.
