Default Brook Lopez our hero?

I was chillin on my throne (my couch) and thinking, did Robin Lopez just do us a favor when he got hurt? Everyone seems to be talking about what the Nets were going to do to pair Deron Williams with a superstar. Nobody seems to be talking about HIM leaving however. Robin Lopez getting hurt surely,at least for the time being, puts a hault on any Dwight to Nets talk. With that being said, if Dwight stays put, is it possible for us to get into the Deron Williams sweepstakes? Would you be willing to move Tyson Chandler or dare I say one of our superstars for Williams?

My opinion: I'm willing to move Chandler. This is not a diss to Tyson either. We all know I was against the signing. Not because of him as a player (I think he fits in well here), but because of the money. I just don't think he's an elite player and the money he's getting kind of suggest he is. I think, if you have the chance to get a top 3 pg (he's narrowly the best pg in the league IMO), you get him. When you look at the "elite" stalwarts in the NBA, not many have great pgs. Having Deron is a weapon that many teams can't they have at the pg position. Furthermore, the center position isn't what it used to be. You can really get away with having a PF play center now.

As for trading Melo or Amare, they'd have to really show me this year that they cannot co-exist. As of right now, despite popular opinion,I think they look pretty good together. PPL talk about Amare's numbers going down slightly. I think that's a good thing. It means he doesn't have to carry the load as much. In the beginning of the season last year, he had to jack a few shot every game because Gallo started off inconsistent and Chandler, while underrated, isn't a very assertive guy.

Don't get me wrong, I like our team (well our front court). This is JUST HYPOTHETICAL!

No I would not do that deal.

We will need a solid center to win it all, and.I think Chandler is that guy.

BTW, Robin Lopez plays for the Suns, but I gotcha.

I don't know, let's wait and see how much will Tyson Chandler help us.

If he plays like I expect him to (10+ rebounds along with teaching his teammates how to defend and being our defensive anchor) and Baron Davis plays like he did last season then I wouldn't make that trade.

Baron isn't on Deron's level but he's good enough to be a starting point guard on a championship team if he plays like he did last season. And Tyson Chandler could solve many of our defensive problems, you can't say the same thing for Deron.

But let's wait and see how things will look for us in a month or two.
Even then it's maybe too early to make a judgement.

Trading Amare would make more sense and would probably leave us as a better team overall, provided we could bring in a good defender to start at PF.

Your not trading Chandler for Deron... Maybe Chandler Stat...

I dont know how cohesive these guys are yet. Melo's Iso's has to sometimes end with him getting Stat the ball and not always shooting.
