Looking Ahead
For the second consecutive week,the Wolves started things off with a win.
On Jan. 1, playing in the first game with the new basketballs,the Wolves
won 102-96 in Charlotte. M innesota rallied from 20 points down at one
point to claim the victory. The 20-point com eback is tied for the third-
largest in Wolves history.

Wednesday's game against San Antonio begins a string of four
consecutive hom e games for the Wolves,including three contests in five
days. The Spurs game is followed by Philadelphia on Friday and Houston
on Sunday.

Entering play on Jan. 2,the Spurs and Rockets had a com bined record of
42-20, a .677 winning percentage. Each team is riding a two-gam e
winning-streak and they rank second and sixth,respectively in the Western
Conference. Philadelphia, at 8-22, has the fewest wins in the Eastern
Conference.

In previous m atchups this season, M innesota lost in Houston,82-75 on
Nov. 28,but cam e back for a 90-84 victory against the Rockets Dec. 6 at
Target Center. The Wolves lost in San Antonio 95-82 on Dec. 13, but
defeated the 76ers in Philadelphia 95-84 on Dec. 3.

Davis Dazzles
Over his last three games,Ricky Davis has averaged 22.3 points-per-gam e
on 54.0 percent field goal shooting. He also averaged 5.7 rebounds,5.0
assists,2.0 steals and hit 55.6 percent (5-9)from long distance over that
time.

Those numbers are above his season averages of 15.1 points, 3.6
rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.1 steals. His shooting from the field in this
streak is nearly 10 points higher than his season average (45.9 percent)
and his three point percentage is double his season average (27.8
percent).

Top Rookie
Randy Foye was nam ed the top Western Conference rookie for his play in
Decem ber. He led all Western Conference first-year pros with a 9.6 points-
per-game average in the m onth and a 90.9 free throw percentage. Foye
finished the m onth with som e ofhis best point totals as a pro,scoring in
double-figures in seven of his last nine contests in Decem ber. Over that
tim e he averaged 12.5 points-per-game and shot 53.2 percent from the
floor (41-77). Foye's two highest point totals ofthe season cam e in a four-
day span,when he tallied 25 against the Bulls on Dec. 26 and 18 at New
Jersey on Dec. 30
