Default It really looks like Peyton is leaving Indy, doesn't it?

The last few days Peyton, Irsay, Polian (about his leaving), the reporter Peyton gave the interview with have all given interviews. A lot of it seems like shots fired across the bow, Irsay basically pointing out he needs to do what is best for team (but avoiding even implying Peyton is leaving), and Peyton basically firing shots saying he wants to stay on his terms, never saying they can't draft Luck, etc. but definitely implying he wants to start. And everyone else has implied that Peyton might not be healed or healing.

It feels like Indy wants Peyton to say he wants to go and Peyton wants Indy to let him start or make the move to let him go.

If he leaves i see a few teams i think fit him..
Washington: If Peyton is cut he loses a ton of money. In Washington he can get it back.
Miami: Money and willingness to change everything.
NYJ: Willingess to chase and chase and chase. Not as much room to fit him in as other teams (and he is a terrible offensive fit for them) but they'll try hard.
SF: Less need but if he is delivered on a silver platter, how could they not at least look? Problem: Cheap owner.
Tennessee: Location good, team fits, willing to pay.

What fasicinates me is people speculating on the Jets specifically as if they would be doing Peyton a favor by allowing him to come to them, they don't have room to pay him that much, and they'd put him in an offense where he'd be a game manager unless they changed everything (receivers, coordinators, etc.) but they assume he'd love to come there.

I don't see him going to the Jets at all. They just hired Tony Sparano as their OC. Do you really see Peyton playing for him and Rex Ryan? Me neither.

I could see him going to the Redskins and playing for Shanahan, or going to San Francisco.

Plus he'd have a suspect offensive line, his main receiver in Holmes, and to get Peyton in they'd need to cut players.

But that's just me.

Yeah, I agree, definitely not the Jets. Peyton's not going to want to deal with all the drama and bullshit that goes on over there. Maybe the Redskins, we all know Snyder is willing to pay. I've also seen the Cardinals mentioned in a few places as a possible destination. Really doubt he ever goes to the Titans for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that they are a divisional opponent.

I could see him go to the Titans. He played college at Tennessee, and if he ends up leaving on bad terms with the Colts (not getting $28 million would make me too), then why not go to a division rival and stick it to em?

Miami is the best situation for him, I think.

It will be interesting to see how this unfolds. I still believe he'll be a Colt if healthy.

I think it'll be Miami or Washington.

Arizona would be a perfect fit, but idk what they'd do with Kolb. It's not like they could get anything good in a trade for him. Maybe they could trade Skelton and have Kolb as insurance if Peyton's neck doesn't hold up.

Will the Colts suffer any cap hits if they trade him? If not, I don't see why they don't attempt to do so.

Kolb makes way too much money to be a backup QB.. Either cut him or start him(whether or not Manning comes) Manning + Kolb would be a huge hit for the cards salary cap

because they would have to take on his enormous contract

no one wants to take that on, even for free

not for a 36 year old with nerve damage in his neck that hasn't thrown a ball in over a year...

I am reading rumors that Peyton might be willing to redo his contract and take less money to stay with the Colts

my own person prediction is that he ends up in Washington, Dan Snyder is going to be all over him if he is released...no one over pays for the stars of the past like he does.

Huge cap hit.

He's retiring or is the QB for the Colts.
