Thumbs up What The Lakers Need

Not to much, we have Kwame whos getting better, Odom, Walton, Bynum, Sasha V., Smush, and Kobe! All we need is a better point guard that can pass and play some D, we dont need an All Star player, maybe an Andre Miller from Denver would be great!

I agree with the need for a point guard, but we need a shooter at that position and Aundre Miller can't shoot maybe Troy Hudson,Chris Duhon,or Mo Williams.

Maybe, but Sasha is becoming a better 3 point shooter and so is Walton and Parker, im pretty sure Phil knows that we need better 3 point shooting so he is gonna make these guys work on their 3 pointers more, Aundre Miller has experience hes been to the playoffs he throws some of the best lobs in the nba hes a prove passer playes pretty good defense, and does shoot well from night to night, but his passing will be there and he can rebound.

I'd rather the Lakers get Chris Duhon than Andre Miller. I think Duhon is very similar to Dre, but a better 3 point shooter(Not as good overall). And he's younger.

Default I have to respectfully disagree

Hi Folks,

I think the Lakers are more than one player away. I think that they played above their abilities last year, primarily because Kobe was incredible. If he has to play that hard this year, it will wear him out.

As I had said in an earlier post, they need depth. They need to add to the collective of Kobe and Lamar. If they can get one top quality player (point guard or power forward) and whether the existing players improve or they get some higher quality players is going to determine how they do next season.

If they do nothing, I say they will do about the same if not worse next season.

Thats my opinion, and I am sticking to it... :) :) :)

Thanks,

Mike in SoCal

The Lakers appears to have their point guard ready to sign. Marcus Banks is more of a traditional point guard, but he is an upgrade over Smush Parker. I also haven't given up on Sasha Vujacic. He has a smooth shot. He just needs confidence and I would hate to give up on him too soon.

If Banks is coming, then Power Forward is my position of concern. If Odom stays and moves to Power Forward, then Small Forward worries me. We need one more quality player on our front court.

We need consistency from our bench. We also need three point shooting. But we're going in the right direction.

I would agree that Sasha needs confidence in his shot. However, he will never be effective until he can actually drive to the basket. If he cant, he becomes a liability as defenders know they sluff off on him and collapse into the low post clogging the middle (which is what happens).

He actually drove on some occasions and walked away successful in those situations but I think shooting is more of his game.

He's a pretty decent passer too. he's got potential
