They've got Gabbert, who already got paid (entire $12 mil contract guaranteed) and Henne ($3 mil signing bonus and non-guaranteed $1.1 salary). Tebow comes for $1.5 mil due to incentives he hit last year; next two seasons he's guaranteed less than $250,000 each. He'll be had for a 4th rounder or less.
Why in the world wouldn't they have the three compete? If they want to give Gabbert more time, there's no reason you can't keep all 3 at those numbers, or cut the loser of Henne/Tebow.
On the field or on the bench, Tebow generates more revenues than any other player in the league.
Fans will moan no matter what a losing team does. Win some games and they won't care. People make it sound like they revolted in Denver. Orton sucked out loud.
