Sam Amico: Lakers "making real push" to get into 1st round of NBA Draft, says EC exec. Word is they like the Baylor guys: Perry Jones & Quincy Miller. Twitter
It looks like the Lakers possibly do want to get a younger SF..... Personally I would rather see a trade for a guy like Beasley. I will say this again though, this is a very deep draft. There's a lot of guys who are going to contribute immediately to their teams. I really wanted the Lakers to keep one of those 1st rounders this year and if we lose Sessions we'll have nothing to show for that trade. Anyway around it, it's good to see that management is looking at options to potentially make the team better.

I really like Perry Jones. I also wouldn't mind if we took Austin Rivers either.
I would like that except we have no real scouting department, we draft like @ss, we do not develop our picks that have potential, we do not give considerable playing time to young players.......and Mike Brown has no freaking clue as how to manage a rotation.
Thinking getting back into the 1st round will help is like the Titanic thinking it can run right through the biggest iceberg
Pardon my pessimism on this subject but I am a history buff.
Perry Jones has a ton of potential but he could end up being a bust. If they're trying to trade into the late 1st round for a SF, I think they should take a look at Royce White too.

Hypothetically if they were drafting somewhere 20-30 who would you go for?

This is hard to say right now;
I haven't finished my evaluations/comparisons
I don't know what our roster will look like once trades are made....what looks like a need right now may not be a need and I have no idea what style of play MB has in mind if any.
I will post my picks for proposed 20 - 30 sometime before the draft.

Perry Jones at pick 25+ can't be considered a bust, at least not imo.
If I'm the Lakers, I try to target two early 2nds and go for Tony Wroten/Jared Cunningham/Evan Fournier along with Drew Gordon, Get a decent guard prospect and a PF I think has a ton of potential.

I wonder what the Lakers are trying to give up to get back in the first? I'm start to wonder is this for a player they want or they plan to trade the player to another team.

That is terrible. We were gonna get Chris paul for pau in a 3 team trade, i dont think the lakers will give up pau for picks. We would also get salary relief wouldnt we?
