and if you throw in kobes first 2 years on the bench ( since nobody would count kobe if shaq won then )
thats 1996-97, 1997-98 as part of the years shaq failed with eddie jones/van exel as his running mates
thats 13 years!
and please dont say shaq didnt peak until kobe was great
1993 = 23/14 on 56%
1994 = 29/13 on 60%
1995 = 29/11 on 58%
1996 = 26/11 on 56%
1997 = 26/12 on 57%
1998 = 28/11 on 58%
2005 = 23/10 on 60% ( top player on miami )
2009 = 18/8 on 59% ( top player on phoenix )
he had great numbers.. but never got the job done
he had 8 legit years out of those 13 as lead dog of his team and never got it done
compare those 7 years to kobes since leaving shaq

Adding everything up for that three year stretch that included three championships, Hall of Fame coach Phil Jackson controlling egos and steering the ship, plus a phenomenal supporting cast, the Lakers were 0-1 (.000) with both out, 13-12 (.520) with Shaq out, 28-6 (.823) with Kobe out or getting back into shape as a reserve, and 140-46 (.753) together.
Now lets factor in how much more important Shaq was than Kobe during their days together.

thats about it
Shaq had as much dominant and all-star seasons as Kobe does. I always find it funny when people underrate Shaq's longevity when he had about 15 straight seasons of averaging 20/10.
Shaq was the much more dominant player in the peak, had a better prime, and has just as much longevity.
Like I said, you can make as many dumb claims as you want about Kobe but anyone who saw those two play know that Shaq was better.
I just don't understand how anyone who watched both play can have Kobe above Shaq. Like seriously... Did you guys watch prime Shaq? Dude was the best player hands down.
I'm not exactly sure how people have players like Magic above Shaq either... Shaq dominated for longer, was just as much of a winner, was more dominant, was a better player. What case is there for Magic above Shaq?
