With Nash on the team, he'll be able to get better looks then he ever has before. He's going to have a hell of a season this year.
This. I expect Kobe will pick his spots this year now that the scoring load is more distributed and playing off the ball more will present easy bucket opportunities.
All the stats are garbage to be honest, but if you watch the games you'll see Kobe just starts launching when he's ahead or is on a roll , it results in inefficient numbers but it really doesn't mean that much at the end of the day.
He doesn't consistently get passed his defender off the dribble. His %s are up and down because he lives on a diet of so many contested, long shots. He does and can make them at times, but a lot of time, he doesn't
Funny how Kobe fans mock PER and Win Shares but are quick to point out TS% and ORTG when it comes to defending claims of his inefficiency.
PER and TS% are built upon two separate, very different foundations.
It's not just Kobe fans whom "mock" PER, if you read the thread on PER's validity a couple weeks ago, you'd see that the majority of us non-Kobe stans believe it's a suitable metric when used in context. The problem is, it's typically not used in context.

(Once again) This. Kobe relies on his "greatness" and confidence that he can make any shot, which I don't blame him for having as he has proven he very well can make any shot, way too much. It was somewhat appropiate for the majority of his career, but as his physical capabilities become more limited due to age, he needs to "look for the easy shot" more often, instead of trying to display his wide offensive skill.

Probably because there's nothing really "advanced" about TS%/ORTG. They are simply the best ways to measure efficiency. It's far better than using FG%.
He can easily. Watching his highlights of this season on youtube just a couple of days ago, all I thought to myself was "Why does this idiot always pullup!?"
He has a very bad shot selection, that's about it.
