if he played the whole season in 86 and 93 he'd have about 36556 points in just 15 seasons. Then if he didn't retire after his 1st 3peat (playing in 94), assuming he averages 30ppg, he'd have a whooping 39000+ points.... in 16 seasons.

Yeah, he's the Greatest Scorer Ever. Plain and Simple.
as I said in the other thread, scoring is the main reason he is so celebrated.
If not, Lebron James take over.
This whole time I thought it was MJ's leadership, will, desire, clutch, rings, ability to overcome obstacles time and time again, his defense, his mental fortitude, ability to rise to the moment, ability to make others better and do whatever the team needed to WIN.
MJ wanted to prove that scoring champs could lead a team to championships. He did exactly that.
Lebron wanted to prove that passing and playing a team game could lead to championships. He did exactly that.
Scoring is just more flashy, loved by people who don't even play basketball. Oh he can shoot, he scores, he must be so good! That's why Jordan is loved all over the world.
Lebron's complete game is only recognized by the true ballers

Lebron did something that has been done by past stars countless times, how did he prove that? He only proved that he was capable in winning a championship. Proving his naysayers wrong.
MJ winning ships as a scoring champ is a unique accomplishment. Go count the times a scoring champ won a championship, let alone multiple times.
And Jordan was as complete a player as there ever was at his position. If you really think all he did was score, then you obviously don't know jack about MJ.

Haha!
I believe (on NBA history lesson), a lot of people believed that you couldn't win by being a leader in scoring department. Wilt had to chance his game for the team. And people thought Jordan might've had to as well.
The team game was always popular. Especially in the 80s with Magic and Bird running the show. When Jordan won his first championship, it was only Jordan and Kareem who won the title and be scoring champion as well. Shaq later went into that category.
But really, you could win a championship and score a lot regardless. You find star players whose team won the championship and they are the second or third in the scoring board in a season. Scoring changes every season, so what is scoring too much or taking to many shots?

I know MJ was good at other things, however he was mostly known around the world for his scoring. Scoring allows random non-bball ppl to get into the sport, it is why he now has this huge following, and is considered GOAT.
If scoring wasn't viewed so highly, his reputation wasnt held so high because of his scoring, Lebron would have a better chance at GOAT.
