What Trades should the Lakers make?
To fit their new coach and identity, it seems to me Gasol isn't a pick and role guy and he wasnt playing well off Dwight anyway. Think the hawks would trade Josh Smith for him, or maybe a package deal with the Raptors including Bargs.

Speaking objectively.
Gasol for Smith and Korver.
But that's not something I actually want to see go down.

Bryant and Gasol were just never able to conduct a proper consistent pick and roll game. That explains three finals appreances and two NBA championships.

Offense would really thrive if they got a 3-pt shooter like Ryan Anderson. D'Antoni's offense revolves around shooters. So maybe Pau for Anderson?

That would be the ideal trade for Lakers, both new players should fit perfectly in D'Antoni's system. The problem is that the Hawks really want nothing from Gasol, unless Lakers still have draft picks to give.

Re: What Trades should the Lakers make?
Pau + Duhon(expirer) + 2nd rounder for Bargnani and Calderon (expirer).
Sign Delonte West (perimeter defense off the bench).
Sign Kenyon Martin (interior defense off the bench).
Howard/Hill/Sacre
Bargnani/Martin/Jamison
Artest/Ebanks
Kobe/Delonte/Meeks
Nash/Calderon/Blake
SF position still trash. Pretty decent balance of defenders and shooters everywhere else.

Pau, and Duhon for Bargs, and Calderon would be pretty good for them if the Raptors would agree to it.
Solidify their PG rotation, add some much needed shooting in Dantoni's system.
Signing West would be great for their bench too.
KMart meh.
I love your ideas though man, other than KMart.

Something with the Rockets and Hornets. Pau to the Rockets, bunch of those Rocket prospects to New Orleans, Anderson to LA.
It's that easy!

Re: What Trades should the Lakers make?
If they wanted to give up Pau for the likes of Ryan Anderson they would have probably acquired Howard a long long time ago.
Throw in Delfino or someone else at least.
