Thumbs up Amare calls out Ginobili

Its about time someone said something.

Quote:
Stoudemire's eventful evening included a technical foul after a collision with Manu Ginobili with 9:07 remaining. Ginobili drove toward the basket, leaped to shoot and caught Stoudemire in the groin with a knee as Stoudemire delivered a hand to the Spurs guard's face.

"I think they're on purpose," Stoudemire said of Ginobili's leading knees. "He's a flopper and likes to cause contact."

Interesting. When mentioning flopping, did Stoudemire mention a guy on his team named Raja Bell?

Ginobli is a train wreck!! But dirty play deserves suspensions.
I see many more in his future.

Where was Raja when they needed him?

I think his "kick" was as intentional as kobes "hit" but to say it warrents a suspension is stupid(just like in kobes case)

my problem with ginobili is he is a jeff...If anyone remembers the 04-05 playoffs where amare got called for a technical for ginobili wildly flopping after amare swung his elbows a little bit with the ball...this is just another example of how ginobilis flops **** up the game causing not just a foul for the other team but also a technical...i dont see how the refs can give out techs and fouls when ginobili is known for flopping

I think the kick was purely accidental, and I don't even think it was that reckless. It was a natural movment that I've seen several times when players jump off of one foot. It was unfortunate that Amare got kicked, but Manu didn't do it intentionally.

Neither was it a flop.

the problem is that it was used to create contact...and thast a offensive foul

Granted, it was an offensive foul... but it didn't appear to have been done with the intent to hurt or to flop. Drawing contact isn't flopping. Flopping is exaggerating contact in order to get a call. Manu has certainly been guilty of this at other times, but I don't think this constitutes a flop. His leg was out before he made contact.

It's on espn.com's recap of the game.

If you watch Manu, he always jumps with his knee out like that, but Manu has also made the reputation for himself as a flopper, so he's gotta deal with that as well. He is a little too reckless when he plays at times. Remember last season, he's the one that took out Barbosa with his flop at the end of the first half of their meeting last year.

He shouldn't get suspended, and I don't think it was intentional. I do however, think that it was an offensive foul if anything. I really think he jumps like that to create contact, as well as some extra space to get his shot off. I don't see the difference with that, and using your off arm to thwart the defender on a drive to the hoop.

If anything, it hurt Amare's pride, and he was pissed when he said that. I would've been pissed too.

Amare has nothing to complain about. He's just upset his nuts were on the bad end of the deal. Players driving like that happens. Dont jump if you dont want to expose yourself. That simple. Nothing intentional about the play. Amare overreacted and at the time I can understand. You just been kicked in the family jewels and you're hurting. But his comments are silly. Manu is a flopper but that play he does what most players do.
