Dante Cunningham will remain a starter, for now
Timberwolves acting head coach Terry Porter said he has not lost confidence in forward Dante Cunningham because of his shooting slump and does not plan to replace him in the starting lineup.
Cunningham, filling in for Kevin Love as the starting power forward, is shooting 37.6 percent (26 of 69) in the Wolves' past six games, including a 6-for-18 performance Monday night, Jan. 14, in the Wolves' 113-98 loss at Dallas.
"I'm not concerned about Dante's shooting," Porter said after the Wolves' practice Wednesday. "They've all been quality shots within his range. He works on his shot a lot. I would be more concerned if he started passing up those shots. That would throw our offense out of whack."
