Just curious. Coming into the season we had tons of hype. Mostly because of that idiot Hollinger who had us pegged #1 overall which ended up looking pretty absurd early on. Nuggets I believe had the 2nd toughest schedule to start, only behind the Hornets. Guy's like Lawson/Gallo didn't look good.
Now everybody seems rolling. Gallo stepping it up in a big way the past 2 months.
Something like 21-9 since December 3rd. 8-2 in their last 10. 12-3 in January. Tied with the 2nd best home record with the Thunder, only behind the Spurs at 19-3. 16-11 vs teams .500 and above. Lead the league I'm pretty sure in points in the paint, all tho still can't shoot the ball that well and get killed by the 3 pointer.
Game and half behind the Grizzlies. Tied with the Warriors. Is home court possible? Likely? ... Still think they got too much hype early on or what?
I haven't watched enough Nuggets games to be remotely qualified, but you guys seem like a very solid 2nd round play-off team. Overall, quality players at nearly every position. That lack of a star tends to be a big road-block in the playoffs though.
Still a struggle. No doubt a transition team. Not good at shooting, actually had a game against Portland where I believe they broke the record for most 3 point misses without a make.
Great at attacking and getting to the hoop tho. Kinda evens that out abit, for example that game against Portland was close even tho they only hit something crazy like one jump shot and it Lawson with like a minute left.
Shooting does seem to be improving too, more inconsistent.

Figured. Our teams' playing styles are pretty similar.
Right, I just remembered that game. Yikes I groan when the Rockets go 4-17 from 3 point land. Can't even imagine what you were thinking during that debacle.
Glad to see Lawson's improving, I've liked him ever since his crazy dunk vs the Lakers. His defense could use some work though - Lin had a pretty great game against him despite the misleading stats.
Also, I have to ask: who's the woman in your avatar?

He seems to have hit his stride in January. We'll see if he can continue it, terrible at the start of the season. Denver as a team probably has some work to do on defense

Nina Dobrev.
If you didn't know about it already, look up my synergy sports and enter the Nuggets for a great statistical breakdown of your team offense and defense. It helped me with the Rockets.
So that's why she looked so familiar! Excellent choice - Eastern European girls are gorgeous.
Talented team, but no clear identity, no real star, and inconsistent on both sides of the floor. Transition teams that can't shoot don't win in the postseason.
great team at home, below average on the road. which is no revelation since about 75% of the league is shitty on the road. if they can somehow steal a game on the road, they can upset someone in the 1st round.
Since Ill Will came back they seem to be playing much better hes another floor spacer at the SF/PF position. The team is probs the most talented team without a superstar in the NBA.

See this is why I made this thread. Nuggets are weird. They dominate the paint. Lead the lead in scoring in that area, top 5 I believe in FTA .. all tho last in the league at shooting them. They also are a top 5 rebounding team. They have 3 capable 7 footers, which no other team can say.
Teams with size that can rebound while dominating the paint? That's success. At the same time they are a transition team that can't shoot and are a work in progress defensively which generally doesn't = success.
Gallo is starting to kinda step up too. Obviously not a real All-Star or even close to a superstar but he's hit some big shots and his production is becoming that of one of those fringe All-Star players like last year before he got hurt. Averaging 19 points on 46% shooting, 43% from deep in January. Averaged 16 on 42% shooting, 41% from deep the month before. Averaging 17 on the season.
Either way the big thing will be HC. Dominant at home, shitty on the road like somebody else said. Guess the question is can they catch Memphis while staying ahead of Golden State.
I used to like this team. With the athletes they have, they could be a beastly defensive team to compensate for their poor half court game but Karl is holding them back.
Lawson and Faried are cool though.
IMO, they need a coaching change and gotta trade for couple of shooters to spread the floor.
They need to give the ball to Gallo more in the half court! Also Mozgov should get more of Koufos' minutes. And they need to wear those dark blue alternates more.
