Does anyone know a relatively cheap (just not expensive - cheap is probably the wrong word) place to shop for suits? I need interviewing suits. I haven't had in a long time and am not sure where to get bang for the buck. (Basically i don't want cheap stuff nor want to look like crap.
go to H&M, you can probably put together a suit for around 150. go to forever 21 as well you might be able to find some descent formal pieces for cheap.
You can get away with a cheap suit for an interview. Cheap suits wear out very quickly and if you don't wear them often they are fine. Don't listen to what some idiots will tell you about they don't look as good, or whatever. That's BS. Cheap suits are cheap cause they are made simply more cheaply. Jos A Bank has pretty decent quality suits for 200 a piece. I dunno if there is a value city or if they even exist anymore but you used to be able to get like 3 suits for around a 150 bucks at that place.

you need to get lucky but sometimes Marshalls or TJ Max type of stores will have some really nice suits but the problem is you have to get lucky with the size and the style being what you like. and they're usually under $100~ and talking top end brand names. sometimes they'll have some really pimp dress coats, like cashmere suit coats but they can go for like $150~ but still regular price on some of them have to be like $350+....
^Exactly, you dont need to spend much on a suit if you're not gonna wear them much.
I am of the opposite opinion. I hardly ever wear a suit so I only own 2 of them. But the 2 I own are nice, quality tailored suits. Just vary the shirts and ties and they will easily last 10-15 years.

they gonna last that long cause you never wear them. Wear suits day in and day out they last me 2/3 years if i'm lucky. All suits must be tailored though, even the cheap ones. Never get it tailored where you got it especially at those bulk suit stores. Find yourself an old lady that knows how to sew.
I've bought suits at Men's Warehouse; you can get a decent suit for under $200. I checked and they have stores in Brooklyn.
I've checked men's warehouse before and their cheap suits are just that, very crappy. They look and feel cheap. If you need them for one time and it ain't important or you don't care how cheap they are then go for it. The better quality ones are also not that great and cost a bit more, basically dept store prices in some cases.
A suit is a must for every man, one can get a better quality suit for about $350 on sale in some dept stores. They won't look or feel as cheap, you won't have as many hassles returning or dealing with other customer service issues either.
