GZA - Liquid Swords
Z-Ro - The Life of Joseph W. McVey
Ab-Soul - Control System
One Be Lo - S.O.N.O.G.R.A.M.
Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill

Ask me this 500 times and I'll give you 500 different answers. Illmatic and Reasonable Doubt make my list every time though.

Yeah, or just all-time great. ATG is a term that is used mostly for boxing when discussing the greatest fighters. Same thing as a GOAT list. "Larry Bird is a Top 10 ATG".

I can never keep a consistent top five either, though right now it'd probably go:

01. Liquid Swords (GZA)
02. Only Built 4 Cuban Linx (Raekwon & Ghostface)
03. ATLiens (Outkast)
04. Illmatic (Nas)
05. Reasonable Doubt (Jay-Z)

All of them are pretty mindblowing from a lyrical or content standpoint, but sonically some of the greatest albums ever produced as well thanks to RZA, Organized Noise, Outkast (themselves), DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Large Professor, Ski, Clark Kent. As high as I do rate OB4CL, it's the only one listed there that starts to grate... How much coke rap is really necessary after a certain point? All the others flex serious versatility.

my list also changes all the time but right now it would be something like this

Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers
Pete Rock & CL Smooth - Mecca And The Soul Brother
Outkast - Aquemini
Mobb Deep - Hell on Earth
Nas- Illmatic

Some of the best debates to be had are comparing ATLiens vs Aquemini and The Infamous vs Hell On Earth. I thought Mobb's follow up to The Infamous was a better record overall too, though we differ on Outkast.
