Default Revis traded to Bucs for picks (including this years #1)

I still think this is stupid. It's being treated as either or, as if the Jets can only have Revis or only sign other good players. The chances of the players they get back being as good is slim and they don't have many good players.

Jets may have very well traded him away at the perfect time...

too hard to judge right now

Basically the Jets could have kept him and had no exposure if his production went down. I'd rather have Revis than whoever they will pick 13th. Clownish organization.

Yep. Best CB in the game for the 13th pick in a weak draft.

The Bucs just absolutely fleeced the Jets. Any Buc fan who is upset with this trade is stupid. People overvalue draft picks so much. Getting the best CB in the NFL for the 13th Overall pick in a weak draft is an absolute steal.

And if the no guaranteed $ rumor is true then it makes it even worse.

The Bucs made out like bandits, no question. They probably wanted a CB in the draft anyway, so why not give up that pick for the best CB in the game? It's a no brainer. Any Bucs fan should be absolutely ecstatic over this. It could not have worked out any better for them.

I am very happy right now. I was worried we'd give up TOO much and get screwed with the contract. Turns out, both of those things were handled perfectly.

We went from having the worst secondary in the league to one of the top 3. Goldson/Barron at safety and Revis/Wright/Ronde (if he doesn't retire) at CB.

Weak draft? I don't agree at all.

It's not top heavy, no great QB's to pick like Luck or RG3 but this draft has quite a few other elite prospects as different positions, and is as deep a draft class as any in the last 5-7 years.

I think the 9-13 range is a great place to be in the draft. Jets have two picks now in that space.

I kind of like the trade. They weren't exactly Revis away from being in the superbowl. I don't think paying 15-16 million a year for a corner on a rebuilding and cap starved team is exactly ideal.

They also held up just fine on defense without Revis. Still finished first overall I believe in pass defense, even though they didn't have an impact pass rush up front.

Now they can address other areas of their team with a borderline elite prospect.

I also like it for the Bucs...they needed to get better in the secondary, clearly....and have done just that. It was their biggest weakness last year.

$16M so far. This year is already vested, i'm not sure why it's not guaranteed, it's guaranteed if he plays. That's $13M more than his Jet deal.
