Melo's first-round performance against Celtics
Anthony’s performance against the Celtics in the first round was mixed. He averaged a series-best 29.2 points a game and clutch plays down the stretch of the Game 6 clincher. But he shot just 38 percent for the series, however, missed 19 straight 3-pointers at one point and sank just 25-of-72 shots (35 percent) in the final three games.
Anthony has advanced out of the first round for the first time as a Knick and just the second time in his 10-year career.
“As far as my mindset goes, I haven’t done anything yet,” he said. “We haven’t done anything.”
Now that Anthony’s battling Indiana, he doesn’t have to deal with the Celtics’ trash talking or with nemesis Kevin Garnett. With Garnett’s future uncertain, Anthony had nothing but praise for the Boston star.
