Raptors trade Fred Jones to Blazers for Juan Dixon

The Portland Trail Blazers today acquired guard/forward Fred Jones, a former Oregon Duck, and future considerations from the Toronto Raptors in exchange for guard Juan Dixon. As part of the trade, Jones has agreed not to exercise the player option year of his contract, meaning his current deal will expire at the end of the 2007-08 season.

good trade for the raps, i don't think they should be mixing it up right now that they're playing well but dixon can light it up

no! Dixon is more of a undersized two then a one. Will help come of the bench for scoring power. Good trade IMO.

Fred Jones gets to play in front of the home crowd, which isnt bad at all. He can help the Blazers' bench.

He should be after last night's game. He had the ball in his hands, down by 1 with 10+ seconds left, dribbled around for 4 secs and put up a no look prayer (like a flick) only to miss badly. Then on the next play, (a jump ball), Bosh won it, tipped it towards him, and he got caught asleep. Lucky that the refs blew the call and gave TO a timeout - when Ford obviously didn't have possession. MoPete did his best to get a shot off and they almost won it. My money says that if Calderon was in there, he would have found Bosh for a better shot than what TJ let off with 6.6 left.

i just know he's a better shooter than jones, and not by a great deal either.

colangelo has no problems trading away mistakes by the looks of it...

but good luck to fred jones all the same.
